Professional framework

Terms and Conditions

A clear framework for using GCEN services and participating in membership and credential processes.

1. Scope and acceptance

These terms govern use of the GCEN website, events, learning services, membership, directories and credential processes. Using a service or submitting a signed application constitutes acceptance of the terms applicable on that date.

2. Eligibility and applications

Applicants must satisfy the published entry route, provide complete and accurate information, possess authority to submit supporting records and notify GCEN of material changes. Submission does not guarantee membership, directory publication or a credential.

3. Assessment and decisions

GCEN may authenticate documents, contact referees, interview applicants, request more information and appoint independent assessors. Decisions follow the standards in force when assessment begins and may be appealed under the Appeals Policy.

4. Fees, EFT and refunds

Applicants must use the supplied payment reference when paying by EFT and upload valid proof of payment. A proof of payment is not confirmation that funds cleared. Fees become non-refundable once substantive administration or assessment starts, except where law requires otherwise or GCEN cancels the service.

5. Membership and credentials

Membership and assessed professional credentials are separate. Membership never represents credentialed competence. Status, abbreviations and marks may be used only while current and only in the form authorised by GCEN.

6. Member responsibilities

Members and credential holders must follow the Code of Conduct, maintain accurate contact and professional information, meet renewal and development duties, cooperate with quality reviews and promptly disclose restrictions or findings relevant to safe practice.

7. Directory and public information

A profile is published only after review and contact consent. The holder is responsible for keeping it accurate. GCEN may correct, suspend or remove a listing that is expired, misleading, unsafe or inconsistent with its standards.

8. Intellectual property

GCEN names, seals, abbreviations and materials may not be copied, altered or used to imply endorsement without written authority. Applicants retain ownership of evidence while permitting its use for assessment, quality assurance, complaints and lawful administration.

9. Suspension, withdrawal and termination

GCEN may limit access, suspend or withdraw status following non-payment, expiry, misrepresentation, breach, risk to the public or a fair conduct process. Except for urgent protective action, the affected person receives notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond.

10. Service availability and third parties

GCEN aims to provide reliable services but does not guarantee uninterrupted access. External links, banks and service providers remain responsible for their own services. Planned maintenance and events outside reasonable control may affect availability.

11. Liability and indemnity

GCEN provides professional-body administration and guidance, not legal, medical, financial or employment advice. Liability is limited to the extent permitted by law; nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Users remain responsible for their professional decisions and services.

12. Notices, complaints and disputes

Formal notices may be delivered using the contact details supplied. Complaints and appeals must use the published processes. Parties should first seek good-faith resolution before pursuing another remedy available under applicable law.

13. Amendments, severability and records

GCEN may adopt a new version prospectively by governing-board resolution. Invalid provisions are severed without affecting the remainder. Electronic applications, acknowledgements, resolutions and signatures may be retained as evidence of agreement and authority.
