Membership and professional pathways

A place to belong. A standard to uphold.

GCEN membership recognises a person’s or organisation’s relationship with the professional community. Each level carries clear entry evidence, ethical commitments and ongoing responsibilities.

Membership is not a professional credential.

These membership abbreviations identify participation and standing within GCEN. They do not replace the separately assessed GAC, GPC, GMC or GTC credentials, and must not be used to imply a licence, qualification or guaranteed competence.

Standard membership: If you simply want to belong to GCEN without pursuing a designation or credential, a standard annual membership of R500 applies.

Individual membership

Five stages of professional belonging.

The proposed levels recognise development from early learning through professional stewardship without confusing membership with credential assessment.
